For its part, the same outlet added that the 2017 American League Most Valuable Player, like Luis Arráez, is processing his permission to report to Navegantes del Magallanes soon.
Arráez is coming off winning the American League batting crown, after averaging .316 points in a season in which he attended his first MLB All-Star Game. Likewise, the Minnesota Twins infielder last played in Venezuela in 2018-2019.
While Altuve would only play in December, it is feasible that Arráez could extend his leave until an eventual Venezuelan postseason, provided he does not suffer major physical mishaps.
José Altuve and Luis Arráez will be two notable additions for Navegantes del Magallanes, and in general for the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League.
